Many owners of coins also collect for investment purposes. Because most older coins are created with gold and silver, they have a collectible value as well as a metal content value. For a new collector or a seasoned collector the best way to get into coin collecting is to purchase a coin publication or book that will give you a place to start. Some people prefer to collect gold, while others prefer silver. Some people like to collect coins from their year of birth or their child’s year of birth. How you decide to pursue your coin collecting hobby is entirely up to you but the possibilities are endless!
